A strict limitation on the number of law-years to be admitted to practice in Palestine is being considered by the government, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency learned today.
The government is now contemplating restriction of licenses to practice to but five new attorneys a year, it was learned. The new restrictions are expected to go into effect in September.
The Jewish Agency for Palestine has taken up the question with other organizations concerned with a view to submitting representations to the government. The Jewish Bar Association, it was learned, is definitely opposed to the plan.
Enactment of this regulation would prevent many new Jewish settlers from Germany from engaging in Palestine in the profession for which they had trained and which they had practiced in their native land.
