The Palestine Pavilion of the 1937 International Exposition was formally opened today with ceremonies in which French and British Government officials and Jewish leaders participated.
Among the features of the pavilion is a reproduction of a Palestine Jewish colonist’s home filled with mementoes of the colony’s history since 1920.
Speaking at the opening ceremonies, Dr. Chaim Weizmann, president of the Jewish Agency for Palestine, declared the Jewish national home feared neither “enquiries nor White Papers” and said its future depended “only on our energy.”
Among other speakers were Commerce Minister Paul Bastid, Senator Justin Godart, Dr. Nahum Goldmann, Geneva representative of the World Zionist Organization, Government Commissar Edmond L’Abbe and Louis Ascher, president of the Pavilion.
