Palestine Jewry today began making elaborate preparations for reburying Baron Edmond de Rothschild and his wife on Palestine soil and making their tomb a national shrine. Their bodies were recently sent here from France.

The bodies of the couple will be interred on the highest mountain in Zichron Jacob, one of the colonies endowed by the Baron. One hundred dunams of land have been reserved.

Near the tomb, a special synagogue will be erected in which a permanent minyan (the ten men required by Jewish law to hold group services) will constantly render psalms and portions of the Talmud in their honor.

In addition, a special road will be laid from the main highway to the tomb.

The Palestine Jewish Colonization Association, which administers the group of 29 settlements founded by the Baron, owns twice as much land as the Jewish National Fund. The Jewish philanthropist spent about $50,000,000 on these colonies.
