French authorities, presumably acting at the behest of the British, last week detained 25-year-old Rabbi Abraham Malavitzky when he halted in Paris on route to the United States by air and deported him to Cairo, it was revealed today.
The young rabbi, who returned to Palestine last night, said that he was arrested as a suspected member of a Jewish extremist group and flown to Egypt, where he was interrogated by British security officers. His clothing was searched and his beard was pulled “to make sure that it wasn’t false,” he said.
