Whatever else they may do, the people who live in Palestine don’t go in very enthusiastically for potent alcoholic beverages even now, but they seem to be getting to like it somewhat more as time goes on.
This is shown clearly by the record. The Palestine Commercial Bulletin, published by the Department of Customs, Excise and Trade, reports that in the month of February only 3,583 litres (about 940 gallons) o# whisky were imported, and very little is manufactured domestically. In February, 1933, the whisky imports were one-third as great.
