An unconfirmed report, doubted by many, was circulated throughout the Yiddish Communist press in Soviet Russia.
The report states that the Ozet, the society for settling Jews on the land in Soviet Russia, has received word to the effect that a “society to support the settlement of Jews on the land in Soviet Russia” was established in Tel Aviv. Thirty members are said to have been enrolled in the society. According to the by-laws of the society its purpose would be to propagate in Palestine the idea of colonization in Soviet Russia, to create a fund supporting this colonization and to gather data concerning the colonization plan in Russia.
The founders of the society are said to have issued an appeal to the “toilers of Tel Aviv” in which attention is directed to the importance of the colonization in Soviet Russia for those who are compelled by circumstances to leave Palestine, the report states.
