Colonial Secretary Ormsby-Gore announced in the House of Commons last night that the Palestine Government’s nominal surplus on Dec. 31, 1936, was £6,372,658 (about $32,000,000). He said it was difficult to make precise determination on how the surplus was to be used because of the heavy increase in defence and security expenditures.
