On May 3, the day of the Polish National Fete, a solemn service was held at one of the large local Synagogues in the presence of the Polish Consul General. Chief Rabbi A. J. Kook delivered a sermon, while Joseph Rosenblatt, the famous American cantor, now in Palestine, sang the prayers. Rabbi Senkiewiez in his address asked the Consul General to convey to the Government of Poland the request of Palestine Jewry that it should use its influence with a view to alleviating the situation of the Jews in Germany as well as opening the doors of Palestine the Jewish masses.
