Palestine to Be Represented at International Trade Union Congresses

Palestine will be represented at the International Trade Union Congress which will open in Paris on August 1, and at the International Cooperative Congress meeting in Stockholm on August 16.

Ben Zvi, Ben Gurion and Dr. Chaim Arlosoroff, representing the Palestine Labor Federation, will attend the two congresses.

JEWISH COMMUNAL ACTIVITIES

A society to be known as the Jewish Communal Home, Inc., composed of representatives of all Jewish of all Jewish organization in Binghamton, N. Y, announced the purchase of the property for a Jewish community center.

Plans are under way for expending $100,000 in remodeling a section of the building and also in building an addition for a gymnasium and auditorium.

The convention of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America will be held in Atlantic City beginning November 24, Rabbi Herbert S. Goldstein, president of the Union, announced.

The convention will mark the twenty-eighth anniversary of the Union’s existence.

Gustavus R. Rogets heads the convention committee which includes Captain N. Taylor Philips. Rabbi David de Sola Pool, Abraham Levy, Samuel H. Horstadter and Rabbi Leo Jung.

Abram I. Elkus. President of the Free Synagogue for ten years, was unanimously elected Honorary President at a recent meeting of the Executive Council. Charles E. Bloch, one of the founders of the Free Synagogue, was elected President.

The following other officers were elected: Vice-Presidents, Walter S. Hilborn and F. Julius Fohs, Treasurer, Samuel Samuel; and Honorary Secretary, Joseph M. Levine.

Baltimore Zionists elected delegates to the forthcoming Zionist Convention at a meeting held Thursday night. Judge Jacob M. Moses heads the delegation.
