Maj. Gen. Vagn Bennike, of Denmark, chief of staff of the United Nations truce commission in Palestine, today indicated that because of increased Arab-Israel tension, he will ask for more U. N. observers to be assigned to his staff. At present there are 25 members of his staff engaged in watching the troubled border lines between Israel and the Arab countries.
Gen. Bennike arrived here for two or three weeks of consultations with U. N. officials. He met with U.N. Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold yesterday and is expected to meet also with members of the Israel and Arab delegations to the United Nations.
