The first anniversary of the death of Menahem Mandel Ussishkin, veteran Zionist leader and for many years world president of the Jewish National Fund, will be marked here on Sept. 23 by a national land convention devoted to the functioning of the JNF.
Leading representatives of the Yishuv drawn from all sections of the nation’s political and economic life are expected to participate in the convention and the memorial ceremonies also planned for Sept. 23. The conference will be held in the Hebrew University on Mt. Scopus. The delegates will also gather at the consecration of the tombstone marking Ussishkin’s grave in Nikanor’s Cave, an ancient crypt on Mr. Scopus.
