Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat called over the weekend for international intervention if necessary in the Middle East similar to the action that led to the Yugoslav withdrawal from Kosovo. “The Palestinians hope that all the parties which interfered in the Kosovo crisis would not hesitate to act in a similar manner to put an end to Israeli occupation,” Arafat said in a statement.
