Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat met with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in Cairo to discuss the stalled Middle East peace process. Arafat then made a surprise trip to Saudi Arabia to meet King Fahd, whom Arafat met with last month to discuss prospects for holding an Arab summit at which they would declare all ties with Israel frozen.
