Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat said he welcomed an American proposal for a peace summit in Washington that he and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would attend along with other world leaders. A Netanyahu adviser said he had not heard about the American proposal. But David Bar-Illan added that Netanyahu would also attend, given the premier’s repeated calls for a Camp David-style summit with Arafat.
