Palestinian Authority police clashed with Hamas gunmen in the Gaza Strip. At least 10 people were wounded in Tuesday’s shoot-outs, the latest internal strife to erupt as a result of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’ efforts to curb rocket and mortar fire at Israeli targets. Political analysts also see the clashes, which began last week, as a symptom of the political challenge Hamas poses to Abbas’ dominant Fatah faction.
