Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat reached an agreement with Hamas and Islamic Jihad to stop attacks on Israel for the time being, according to a West Bank leader of Arafat’s Fatah movement. “Arafat is in full control of all the organizations operating against Israelis in the territories,” Hussein Sheik told Army Radio. Arafat has repeatedly stated in the past that he has no control over terrorist groups such as Hamas or Islamic Jihad.
