The “magnificent courage” displayed by a young Palestinian member of the Royal Air Force in defense of an advance RAF airdrome in Libya during a heavy raid is praised in the Air Ministry’s news bulletin.

With machine-gun bullets tearing up the ground around him, the Palestinian, clad only in pajamas and greatcoat, extinguished small incendiary bombs, put out a fire starting near a British heavy bomber and saved a medium bomber which had caught fire.
