The formation of a professional association of Palestine lawyers was decided upon at the conference of Jewish lawyers which was held here recently.
The main questions which interested the conference were the status of the lawyers before the Court and the Executive office, and their position in connection with Court taxes. The conference elected a central committee consisting of Messrs. Auster, Eliash and Freidenberg, Jerusalem, Gorodissky, Tel-Aviv and Waschitz, Haifa, and decided to issue a special organ. Discussion arose as to the language of that organ, and it was resolved that this question should be decided by a plebiscite of the lawyers of the country.
