Palestinian officials are concerned the United States is moving from its role as a mediator in the peace process to being a “partner” with Israel, top Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat said. “This link is totally rejected by us,” Erekat added in the wake of a series of meetings between President Clinton and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak.
