Palestinian officials denied a report that Yasser Arafat is planning to delay the declaration of statehood until the end of the year. The report in the Israeli daily Ha’aretz, which cited sources close to the Palestinian leader as saying Arafat is backing away from making the declaration in May, is a fabrication, according to the Palestinian minister of information, Yasser Abed Rabbo.
