Palestinian security officials got into a shootout with three Hamas fugitives in the Gaza Strip. One official was killed, and a Palestinian boy and girl were run over during an ensuing car chase. The three were later arrested after another shootout with Palestinian police. The incident led to the subsequent arrest of more than 20 Hamas activists, including 10 wanted by Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
