Palestinians fired two mortar shells at the Jewish settlement of Kfar Darom in the Gaza Strip, Israel said, adding that no one was injured. Palestinian security officials, who denied the mortar attack, accused Israel of sending a tank and a bulldozer into a Palestinian-controlled area of Gaza to flatten rubble that previously had been razed. Israel said it knew nothing about the incident.
