Palestinians whose homes were damaged during army raids against rocket attacks emanating from the Gaza Strip have reportedly called on Yasser Arafat to halt the attacks. A letter sent to Arafat and other senior Palestinian Authority officials said that while the rocket attacks have not been effective, they have provided Israel with a reason to enter Gaza and launch military operations that wind up destroying the Palestinians’ homes, Israel Radio reported.
