Mayor Fiorello H. LaGuardia yesterday swore in former Municipal Court Justice Jacob Panken as Justice of the Domestic Relations Court. The appointment is for ten years and carries with it a salary of $12,000 a year.
Panken was appointed to a new judgeship created in the Domestic Relations Court, which brings the number of justices assigned to that court to eight.
“I was offered the appointment ### Mayor LaGuardia Monday morning over the telephone,” Judge Panken told The Jewish Daily Bulletin. “I accepted at once, walked over to City Hall and was sworn in by the Mayor.”
