Paul Painleve and Edouard Herriot, both former premiers, attended the farewell dinner given to Prof. Albert Einstein by the German ambassador, Herr Von Hoesch. Prof. Einstein was also feted before his departure at a tea given by the famous French mathematician, Emil Borel, which was well attended by the French literary and scientific world.
