All of the General Zionists (Centrists) with the exception of the group headed by Dr. M. D. Eder of Great Britain and the American delegation today agreed upon a resolution to be presented to the Zionist Congress to the effect that the MacDonald letter interpreting the White Paper of October 1930 is unsatisfactory and that confidence in the Mandatory Power can only be restored if and when the policies now pursued by the British government and the Palestine government are radically changed.
The resolution in part reads as follows: “The policy of Great Britain as well as that of the Palestine government has deeply shaken Jewish confidence which was hitherto the basis of our relations with the Mandatory Power which for the last two years violated the obligations imposed by the Mandate with regard to the Jewish National Home” Terming the MacDonald letter unsatisfactory and pointing out that the attitude of the Palestine government is systematically obstructing the upbuilding of Palestine, the resolution concluded by saying that confidence in the Mandatory can be reestablished only if and when “the policies now pursued by the British government and the Palestine government are radically changed”.
The American General Zionists are still heatedly discussing the acceptance of this same resolution.
