The passports of hundreds of Jewish business men seized by the secret state police in Munich and other Bavarian cities have been returned with the travel permits cancelled, it was learned today.
Attached to the passports were statements notifying the owners:
“You will note that the endorsement on page eleven which makes this passport valid for travel abroad has been cancelled.” The note adds that in the event the holders wished to go abroad they would be obliged to deposit a “flight tax,” which would be forfeited if they did not return by a specified date.
