City Counsel Charles F. Lynch has ruled against an ordinance referred to the Board of Aldermen which would have regulated opening and closing hours of kosher butcher shops. He contended that if regulations are to be adopted they should be general, applying to all butcher stores without discrimination as to nationality or religion. Further investigation will be made before the ordinance is discarded.
