Sir Thomas Inskip, Minister of Defense, made it clear in a strong address last week that Great Britain’s patience with the Palestine disorders had reached the point of exhaustion.
“The government must assert its authority,” he declares,” it is all the more urgent that violence of the past four months be ended because the Royal Commission cannot enter on its task until order is restored.”
Declaring that “we have to administer the Palestine mandate which is our trust”, the Cabinet Minister said:
“It is obvious that British troops must be used.”
