The death toll in the Patria disaster of last November reached 170 today when 12 more bodies, including that of a child, were recovered from the sunken bulk of the vessel which sank in Haifa harbor after a mysterious blast last November while waiting to transport more than 1,700 Jewish refugees who had been barred from Palestine to a British colony for the duration of the war. None of the bodies was identified. The survivors of the tragedy ultimately were permitted to remain in Palestine.
