The establishment of a Paula Ben Gurion Foundation to provide scholarships at all educational levels for needy Israeli youngsters was disclosed to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency here today by one of its governors, Abraham Tsivion, director of the Midrasha, the Ben Gurion college in Sde Boker, said that the foundation named in memory of the late wife of Israel’s former Prime Minister would provide scholarships at the Midrasha’s seminary, high school or school of field studies. Mr. Tsivion returned to Israel last night after a visit to Britain as the guest of the Joint Palestine Appeal.
He said that President Zalman Shazar is Patron of the new foundation. Members of its governing body include Mayor Teddy Kollek, of Jerusalem, Shimon Peres, member of the Knesset (Parliament) and former Deputy Minister of Defense, and Prof. Ernst David Bergmann, the Israeli physicist.
