A nominal fine was imposed by the Police Court upon Langermann, the leader of the Jewish congregation on Grenadierstrasse, for attempting to bail out a fellow member who was arrested last Yom Kippur on a charge of disturbing the peace.

Sergeant Berner arrested Liebermann because he stood outside the synagogue taking a breath of air before the final services, Neilah. Langermann followed the officer and his prisoner, asking for his release on bail. He was thrown out of the police station and proceedings were started against him for disturbing the peace.

Police authorities have started an inquiry concerning the behavior of Sergeant Berner.
