The all-Jewish committee formed yesterday in Poland to handle arrangements for ceremonies honoring Chaim Nachman Bialik, noted Hebrew poet, today suggested that during the period of mourning Zionist factions all over the world maintain peace and halt all party strife out of respect to the memory of the dead poet.
Two members of the committee, former Sejm deputy Hartglas and Rabbi Isaac Nissenbaum, were instructed to initiate action to this effect at once.
The committee, which was enlarged by the adherence of the Warsaw Jewish community, the Yiddish Literary Association, the Sjem Kolo Club and the teachers group, resolved to proclaim a month of mourning for Bialik and to hold country-wide meetings on the day of the funeral.
Deputies Rabbi Joshau Thon and Henrik Rosmarin cabled condolences to the Vaad Leumi in Palestine on behalf of the Jewish deputies in the Sejm. Dr. Mazur, on behalf of the Warsaw Jewish community, sent a message to Bialik’s family in Vienna.
