The Roumanian peasants’ march on Bucharest would have been accompanied by serious anti-Jewish excesses perpetrated by students were it not for the intervention of the peasant leaders.

Despatches from Bucharest to Belgrade and Budapest newspaper relate that in many localities student groups joined the peasants in their march on Bucharest, attempting to provoke anti-Jewish attacks. The peasant leaders, mainly deputies, energetically intervened.
