Already sentenced to a three-month jail term and a 500 franc fine for anti-Semitic agitation, Municipal Councillor Louis Darquier de Pellepoix was today indicted a second time on charges of defaming a racial group. The indictment related to an article in the July 15 issue of his newspaper, France Enchainee. Anti-Jewish articles in the May 31 issue of the paper brought the jail term for de Pellepoix under the decree outlawing racial incitement.
