Deputy marshals left Washington last night for the Federal penitentiary at Terre Haute, Ind. to bring back William Dudley Pelley, the anti-Semitic leader of the Silver Shits, who was sentenced last week to fifteen years in prison for sedition, to be arraigned here tomorrow before the Federal District Court of Columbia on the charge of conspiring to undermine the morale of the armed forces.
Charles B. Hudson, editor of the anti-Semitic bulletin “America in Danger,” and James True, who invented a weapon which he called “the kike-killer,” this week withdrew their non-guilty pleas in abatement, contesting the legality of the grand jury that indicted them on charges of conspiring to impair the morale of the armed forces. Although Hudson’s plea came from Omaha and Ture’s was filed in Washington, both of the long and complicated documents had the same wording.
