Birthday greetings from Israel were convoyed by Ambassador Eliahu Elath to Albert Einstein on his 70th birthday, a spokesman for the Israeli Embassy said today. The message said: “The people and Government of Israel congratulate you on your 70th birthday and wish you many happy returns.”
The American Friends of the Hebrew University today presented Prof. Einstein with an honorary Doctor of Philosophy degree. The presentation was made at Einstein’s residence at Princeton, N.J., by Dr. Israel S. Wechsler, president of the American Friends.
