Publication of an English-language version of Itzhak Perlow’s “People of Exodus,” dealing with the tribulations of the 4,500 refugees on the Exodus which tried and failed in 1949 to land its passengers in Palestine, was announced here today.
The author who, with his wife, singer Lola Folman, was among the passengers on the ship, which was ordered returned to occupied Germany by the British Government, said he hoped the book would be published in other languages.
Written and published in Argentina in Yiddish in 1949. “People of Exodus” tells of the reactions of the survivors of the Hitler holocaust during the trip of the boat to Palestine and on its return voyage.
