The numerical strength of the Jewish population in Warsaw in proportion to the general population has dropped considerably since 1917.
On January 1, 1928, the total Warsaw population was 1,050,187. Thirty per cent of this number was Jewish. In 1917 the Jewish population of Warsaw constituted forty-one per cent.
