Shalom Perlmutter, playwright and one of the founders and a vice-president of the Hebrew Actors Union, died here last night. He was 70.
Mr. Perlmutter, who was an actor for some years, turned to play righting and bad a number of his works produced on the Yiddish stage in this country. He was also known as an historian of the Jewish theatre. His most recent work, published last year, was “Jewish Dramatists and Jewish Composers.”
