Argentine President Juan Peron, who is visiting Chile, has reiterated here his statements of friendship and sympathy for Jews and the State of Israel.
“The Jews know very well that Argentina is a strong friend of Israel,” the Argentine President told Roberto Aron, president of the Chilean Zionist Federation, when the latter presented him with a gift. “We have expressed such feelings at various opportunities, and were the first South American nation to send a diplomatic representative to Israel.” President Peron also stressed the Argentine Government’s opposition to racism.
