Many notables are on the committee for the dedication of the perpetual light of the temple, at the Ocean Parkway Jewish Center, as a tribute to John L. Bernstein’s “life of service to Jewry and Judaism.” The dedication will take place this Sunday afternoon, at the center, 550 Ocean parkway, Brooklyn.
Among those on the committee headed by Samuel D. Dorfman are: Morris Rothenberg, president, Zionist Organization of America; Dr. Israel Goldstein, president, Jewish National Fund; Professor Mordecal M. Kaplan, chairman, Israel Matz Foundation; Bernard Semel, honorary secretary, Jewish Eduction Association; Abraham Herman, president, Hias; Sol. Cohen, president, Herzliah, Hebrew Academy; Jacob H. Cohen, president. Temple Sinai of Brooklyn; Louis Singer, president, Home of Old Israel, and others. Cantor Joseph Schlisky and Madame Lola Monti-gorsey of the Chicago Opera House will render solos.
