Rabbi Perry E. Nussbaum, who returned recently to this country after a year spent in Melbourne, Australia, was installed tonight in the pulpit of Temple B’nai Israel here. Rabbi Nussbaum, a graduate of Hebrew Union College, comes to B’nai Israel, which was built in 1929 and is the only synagogue in the Texas Panhandle, at a time when the local Jewish community has undergone a complete reorganization.
The Rev. Dr. Martin Zielonka of El Paso delivered the principal address at the ceremonies. Also on the program were Mayor Ross, D. Rogers and the Rev. Frederick A. Foster, rector of St. Andrews’ Episcopal Church. J. Blinderman is president of the congregation.
