In order to prevent the emigration of Jews from Persia, the government of that country has put a ban on all emigration, according to information received by the Vaad Leumi from Teheran.
The issuance of the decree forbidding emigration followed a number of anti-Jewish outbreaks in Persia, which induced a number of Jews there to liquidate their businesses with the intention of settling in Palestine. Reluctant to see the Jews leave, the government issued a decree forbidding the Jews to leave.
Following strenuous protests of this action by Jewish leaders of Persia, the government rescinded the specific Jewish bar, but promulgated a general order barring all emigration.
The Zionist Organization of Persia is therefore asking that the World Zionist Organization use its efforts towards the recall of the order.
