Sholem Schwartzbard, who killed Simon Petlura, notorious Ukrainian pogrom leader, arrived in New York on the French liner, Paris, Sunday, Mr. Schwartzbard came here with a group of 250 French War Veterans who are in the United States to return the visit the American Legion made to France some years ago. The delegation included 35 French Jewish veterans. The French veterans will remain here for three weeks.
A dinner and reception for M. Schwartzbard will be given by the Jewish War Veterans Wednesday evening in Trotzky’s dining room, 35th Street and 7th Avenue. National and state officers of the Jewish War Veterans and well known Jewish leaders are expected to be present.
