The Phi Alpha fraternity has been awarded the B’nai B’rith Hillel Foundation fraternity scholarship trophy. This announcement was made at a convocation of West Virginia University students and faculty by Rabbi Samuel H. Baron, director of the West Virginia University Hillel Foundation. The scholarship trophy is awarded each year to the fraternity on the West Virginia campus whether or not it is Jewish or affiliated with the Inter-fraternity Council. The winner is determined by the faculty committee on student and fraternity standings and the faculty committee on prizes and awards. Two other Jewish fraternities, Phi Sigma Delta and Pi Lambda Phi also achieve high ranking.
