In an effort to insure the success of the combined campaign of the 1951 Philadelphia Allied Jewish Appeal and the Medical Center building fund of the Federation of Jewish Charities Ephraim R. Gamberg, Allied Jewish Appeal executive, announced here that the drive has been extended to allow additional time to complete the coverage of approximately 6,000 pledge cards still unsolicited. While the campaign total to date of $5,001,618 in pledges and cash is well over the amount realized in 1950, Mr. Gamberg emphasized the fact that ” the needs and responsibilities in this crucial year are far greater.”
