The drive for the annual maintenance fund of the Federation of Jewish Charities, $1,750,000 this year, was concluded with a dinner to the 1,200 members of the various teams in the Benjamin Franklin Hotel.
Subscriptions and pledges, it was announced at the beginning of the dinner, totaled $1,575,693. The final goal was achieved, when, after speeches by Justin P. Allman, chairman of the campaign committee, Jacob Billikopf, executive director of the Federation, and Joseph J. Greenberg, additional pledges were forthcoming, team captains promised to raise additional quotas and the executive committee underwrote the balance of $50,000.
