Jewish organizations in this city were called upon to request the United States State Department “to intervene with the German Government protesting against the elimination of Jews from the economic, political and cultural life of that country”, at a largely-attended meeting of the Philadelphia Jewish Council.
The resolutions unanimously adopted pointed to the fact that “the present situation warrants action similar to that taken by our government on former occasions as during the persecution of Jews in Roumania, Russia and other lands.”
Another resolution called upon all the citizens of Pennsylvania “to urge their representatives in the United States House of Representatives to take a definite stand in branding the inhuman acts of the German government against the Jews in Germany as contrary to human principles of equality and justice.”
