Philadelphia will inaugurate its campaign for $375,000 for the United Palestine Appeal this evening with a dinner at the Benjamin Franklin Hotel. The sum of $375,000 represents the larges sum of money which the Jewish community of Philadelphia has ever been asked to contribute to Palestine.
Twelve hundred men and women, under the leadership of Judge William M. Lewis, will inaugurate the campaign. Rabbi Stephen S. Wise. National Chairman of the $5,000,000 United Palestine Appeal, will be the principal speaker at the dinner, Judge William M. Lewis will preside.
The campaign will last ten days.
